About 80% of all electrostatic ignitions are due to ungrounded conductive objects, e.g., drums during filling and emptying.

Sometimes the earthing clamp is not applied in time, so that the container is already electrostatically charged and then, when the earthing clamp is approached, an ignitable spark is created.
