Due to its operating principle, the side channel pump is protected against dry running for short periods.

The side channel pump must be filled once with the medium to be pumped; then it is permanently self-priming, as liquid always remains in the pump.

If the height difference between the pump axis and the liquid level is more than 6 meters, the use of a check valve is recommended.

This also applies if a long horizontal distance has to be overcome.

This pump type offers further design advantages:

the intake of air is possible without damage to the wings

there is no contact between medium and motor

low speed with high liter power

This pump is suitable, for example, for transferring water, sea water, heating oil or diesel into various tanks.

A particular area of ​​application is installation in commercial vehicles with electric drive.

For example, for watering gardens in cemeteries.

Approved media:

Water, sea water, wine, vegetable oil, diesel, heating oil

The media to be pumped must not contain any abrasive substances.

In this case, the pump must be equipped with a suitable filter.

The viscosity must not exceed 100 cSt.

The media temperature must be below 70 ° C.
