Motorcycle Honda Deauville 650 replacement of the defective fuel pump with a Facet fuel pump

Motorrad Honda Deauville 650 Austausch der defekten Benzinpumpe gegen eine Facet Benzinpumpe

We have previously reported in this blog about a Honda Deauville 650 and the replacement of the defective original fuel pump.

You can find the old post here.

The Honda Deauville 650 shown now was built in 1999.

The fuel pump failed at approx. 30,000 km.

The motorcycle can also be ridden without a fuel pump.

However, only with a reduced range of approx. 200 km.

Due to the lack of pre-pressure from the fuel pump, there are problems when starting off and when accelerating quickly in the lower RPM range.

The engine tends to choke.

The customer has now installed the Facet fuel pump model F-40104 from Pumpen Peters.

This pump was installed on rubber buffers, which were mounted on the original pump bracket.

In addition, a new Mann WK 32/7 fuel filter was installed before the Facet fuel pump.

The Facet pump F-40104 is vibration-isolated and installed with an extra fuse.

With these measures, normal operation is again ensured.

The Facet pump F-40104 was immediately available and the purchase price is only 1/3 of that of the original Honda fuel pump.

For imitators, here is a list of parts that you can find in our Pumpen Peters shop:

1 piece Facet fuel pump 12 Volt model F-40104

2 pieces matching hose nozzles ST-10-1/8-NPT with 1/8 inch American NPT thread

1 bottle of liquid thread sealant for sealing the above hose nozzles in the Facet fuel pump

1 meter fuel-resistant fuel hose with 9.5 mm inner diameter

4 pieces of Norma S clamp hose clamps suitable for the above hose

1 piece splash-proof fuse holder

1 piece blade fuse with 3 Amperes

2 or 4 pieces cable tap / power tap for electrical connection of the pump and additional blade fuse.

We wish you much success in replicating this and always accident-free riding.
