We have received pictures from a customer who used our self-fusing repair tape, insulating tape. The background was a problem with a 1 1/4 inch PVC hose and the corresponding 1 1/4 inch hose barbs. The hose could not be sealed tightly with the hose barbs. There are also no bolt clamps. The problem lies in the tolerances of large nominal diameters for PVC hoses with high wall thickness. This can lead to the problem mentioned above. The self-fusing repair tape provides the solution. With this polyisobutylene tape, the hose barb is wrapped with a few turns. The repair tape self-fuses within 10 minutes and thus adds "material thickness". At the same time, the rubber then seals the hose slipped over it. Bolt clamp screwed on and done. The result is a tight connection. However, the self-fusing repair tape offers numerous other applications: - Sealing and insulating pipes, hoses, cables - Bundling of cables - Permanently elastic fastening of movable and rigid parts, for the production of O-rings, sleeves, etc.
