The VW Karmann-Ghia was not originally equipped with an electric windshield washer pump as standard.
Instead, the washer fluid reservoir was connected to the spare wheel via an adapter.
The tire pressure thus created overpressure in the reservoir, which was then used to spray water through the washer nozzles onto the windshield.
A potentially flat spare tire and the small amount of washer fluid prompted the driver of this 1971 coupé to retrofit his vehicle with an electric 12-volt gear pump.
A beautiful stainless steel push-button now serves as the switch for our electric 12-volt washer fluid pump.
The washer fluid pump delivers 1.84 l/min and a max. output of 2.2 bar.
It can even be used for vintage cars with a 6-volt electrical system.
We also carry suitable washer fluid hoses, hose connectors, and check valves for complete installation.
