What does an electrical 12 V pump with reversible direction of rotation do in a Melges 24?
The sailboat, the Melges 24, has been a regatta boat recognized by the World Sailing Federation ISAF since 1997.
The Melges24 is usually sailed by a crew of 4 - 5 people.
However, the owner wanted to participate in the world's largest single-handed regatta, the Silverrudder in Denmark.
The idea was to replace the missing crew with water ballast.
This water ballast is required sometimes on port and sometimes on starboard, depending on the wind direction.
The solution for this task is a small, powerful 12-volt side channel pump with reversible direction of rotation from Pumpen Peters.
Weighing only 8 kg, the stainless steel pump can transfer 83 l/min of seawater between the tanks.
The pump's electrics were connected to a 12-volt battery using two plugs with different polarity.
This allows the pump to suck in water without re-plugging the hoses and then push it out again by plugging in the second plug.
The regatta led around the island of Funen, with the route being 134 nautical miles.
The yacht owner reported after the successful completion that the system with the pump had worked excellently.
Water in diesel and heating oil tanks removed with Tank Dryer
The season for condensation and rainwater in storage tanks for heating oil and diesel has begun again.
As every year in autumn and winter, you will find water at the bottom of your tank.
Our new product saves you extra filters and expensive cleaning and repumping of fuels in tanks where water has settled.
The failure of your machines, engines, heaters, etc., fueled with contaminated fuel, is a thing of the past.
Condensation and water from penetrating rain or melting snow always find their way through the tank's ventilation system.
You can remove this water easily and quickly with the Tank Dryer.
Through an opening of at least 5 cm, lower the Tank Dryer to the bottom of the tank using the attached cord.
The Tank Dryer has two weights inside the casing to allow the product to slide easily down to the bottom.
There, the Tank Dryer immediately starts to work.
After just one hour, you can pull the water-soaked product to the surface and inspect it.
The Tank Dryer must be checked after one week at the latest.
Tank Dryers saturated with condensation must be removed immediately.
The approx. 58 cm long product is able to absorb up to 400 ml of water.
If you suspect a lot of water in the storage tank, you can, of course, lower several Tank Dryers into the tank at once.
The effectiveness of the Tank Dryer is reduced if alcohol-based additives are present in the fuel.
Do not use the product if the fuels are ethanol-based.

Hose connector made of stainless steel 1.4301 (X5CrNi18-10), AISI 304 (V2A)
These are hose connectors made of stainless steel.
The hose connectors are offered in a wide variety of dimensions.
The selection ranges from straight stainless steel hose connectors and 90-degree elbows in V2A, to reductions made from material 1.4301.
In some cases, hose connector shapes are also offered that are only available in stainless steel.
This applies, for example, to the stainless steel hose connectors 90-degree bend, U-bend and U-bend with outlet.
These are designed to be particularly flow-optimized.
Characteristic of these hose connectors, in addition to their chemical resistance, is their insensitivity to temperature fluctuations and corrosion.
A practical example:
Plastic hose connectors with a temperature range of -0°C to +80°C easily break when used in the automotive sector (motorhome drinking water supply) due to temperature fluctuations and can be easily and inexpensively replaced with stainless steel hose connectors.
Expensive and long workshop stays with flooded motorhomes are a thing of the past with Pumpen Peters' stainless steel hose connectors.

Aerobatic aircraft type DR107 with smoke system
Today, we are publishing impressive photos showing pilot Josef Bertram performing aerobatics.
The aircraft is a "kit plane" from the USA, type DR107.
The aerobatic aircraft measures 6 meters in wingspan and bears the registration N107XR.
The installed engine is a 4-cylinder Lycoming boxer engine with approx. 5.9 liters displacement and 200 hp.
Our customer has repurposed a 12-volt gear pump from our oil extraction kit.
This saves high costs that would otherwise be incurred for pre-assembled smoke system kits.
With the 12-volt gear pump used, paraffin is injected into the exhaust.
The paraffin vaporizes due to the hot exhaust gases, creating the smoke shown in the pictures.
