Harley Davidson Sportster Oil Tank Conversion
After a long time, here's another post featuring a motorcycle.
It's a Harley Davidson Sportster, built in '92.
As is often the case with Harley owners, the base model is technically improved and visually enhanced.
Our customer has also caught the bug and created his own website for it.
His latest project was the modification of the oil tanks.
The oil tanks from model years 1983 to 1993 repeatedly develop cracks in the rear bracket.
The solution is to install the oil tank from the last series (1997-03).
Unfortunately, Harley Davidson does not offer hose connectors for the new connection.
From our extensive product range of hose connectors, the customer could choose from 233 products and found the necessary parts there.
The conversion is documented here.
We wish for more creative ideas for the Harley Davidson conversion and an accident-free 2016 season.

Stainless steel tanker filling unit for IBC filling
The customer produces acids for the animal feed industry and for grain preservation.
The raw components are delivered to the plant by truck.
Small quantities are filled directly from the tank truck into IBCs.
The task was to make filling easier and to provide the filler with more safety.
The nozzle had to be made entirely of stainless steel and the entire unit had to be long enough so that the filler did not have to bear the weight of the nozzle and hose all the time.
In addition, nothing should splash out of the IBC.
From a kind of modular system, we were able to select the desired components and glue them together.
The individual solution has been in use for some time now and all employees are very satisfied with the handling.
In the pictures, monopropylene glycol is being filled from the tank truck into an IBC.
The stainless steel filling unit is also used for crude rapeseed oil, lactic acid and pharmaceutical glycerin.
The stainless steel ball valve and the stainless steel pipes are in 1 1/2 inch.
The following materials are used in the manufacture of the ball valve: Housing: 1.4408, Ball: 1.4408, Seal: PTFE (15% GF), Handle: 1.4301
The pipes are made of stainless steel 1.4571 and the angle is made of stainless steel 1.4408.

Golf 1, built 1983, 1.5l engine 70 hp (engine code: JB)
Here's an interesting modification to a VW Golf 1.
The existing valve cover ventilation was converted with an oil separator from compressed air accessories.
The 19mm dispenser hose is used as a connection between the oil separator and the valve cover ventilation.
Another modification was made by replacing the return line from the vapor bubble separator to the tank.
This hardened and heavily yellowed original hose was replaced with our opaque 4mm polyamide hose.
This now allows a view into the return flow.
The car is driven sporadically in everyday life, as long as there is no salt on the roads.
The classic car with H-plate is a hobby vehicle.
Officially, the owner is the third keeper of the car.
We wish you continued safe travels.

Brewing and filtering beer in the bathroom
As the saying goes: "There's always room for one more."
In this case, the bathroom was repurposed for brewing and filtering beer.
The starting material was a beer kit.
This kit contained Muntons liquid wheat beer extract (hopped), and instead of brewing sugar, liquid wheat malt extract from Brewferm (unhopped) was used.
The homemade Hefeweizen was filtered with our small beer plate filter.
The 3 µm filter sheets were sufficient for the customer to clarify the delicious Hefeweizen.
The home-brewed beer is drawn from the elevated beer fermenter through the silicone hose and pressed through the filter sheets of the pump.
At the outlet of the last filter plate, the silicone hose then runs into the beer fermenter standing on the floor.
Cheers, and have fun brewing beer!
